Hi stella Thank you very much for taking the time to comment. You are correct - Flamsteed did see Uranus, but catalogued it as a star (34 Tauri), not a planet. Herschel is credited as the discoverer, in most text books I have seen. Kevin

Can’t agree that “Uranus was unknown before 1781″
It was seen by Flamsteed on 23 December 1690.
